I'm currently working as a postdoc research fellow, in collaboration with William McIlhagga, in the Vision Science Research Group at Bradford University, UK. My research interests are mainly focused on how the human visual system processes borders or contours in the retinal image. My PhD (supervised by Mark Georgeson) was a study of the mechanisms that the brain uses to encode the blur and contrast of luminance edges. After that, I worked on the detection of texture boundaries with Li Zhaoping, and then contour integration with Robert Hess. I am currently working on a variety of studies on edge detection and the perception of blur and contrast.
